Canuckle is a daily word game in which you have six attempts to guess a hidden five-letter word. What sets it apart from a plain Wordle clone is the theme: every answer relates to Canada in some way, from places and symbols to words that Canadians use often. It was made by brothers Mark and Jeff Rogers in Ottawa, first released on February 10, 2022, as a Canadian take on the puzzle that was popular that winter. The game paused its daily puzzles around Canada Day in 2022 and was later brought back, and it is still publishing a new word each day in 2026.
Play works the way regular players will expect. A blank grid of six rows loads for the day, and you type real five-letter words using your keyboard or the on-screen one. After each guess the tiles change color to score it: red means the letter is in the correct spot, yellow means the letter is in the word but somewhere else, and grey means the letter is not in today's word.
